Q.  6/22/2007

I was wondering if you could help me find the name of the old airstrip that is located off of Drumpoint Rd, behind Skymanor.
I don't think the air stripe was called Sky Manor, but was named for it.
  A.
The airport off Drum Point Road was built after World War II by Bruce Huppert Wartime pilot. Huppert' company was called Huppert Aviation Co. gave flying lesson, repaired and maintained planes, sold new and used planes there. The airport was called Ocean County Airport, but local residents called it Osbornville Airport. The name Sky Manor was originated by the developer of that community. Hubbard later opened a boat sales and repair business there, the building is now occupied by Missing Link Fence Co., at least it was the last time I went down Drum Point Road
