Township Historian to Speak at Herbertsville Firehouse
The Brick Township Historical Society has announced its fall schedule will begin with Gene Donatiello, township historian and founding member, presenting a program on September 12, 2017 at 7:30 pm at its meeting at the Herbertsville Firehouse, 601 Herbertsville Rd., Brick.  The program is called “Summer Camps in Brick Township.”  Slides and narration will include Camp Nejecho, Camp Metedeconk, Camp Eagle, Windward Beach, Camp Osborn and more.  Admission is free, and the public is welcome.
Following are our meetings and events for the remainder of 2017.  Please refer to this and join us as much as your schedule allows.

Oct. 7 we will host a “Fall Festival” from 10 am to 2 pm on our Havens Homestead property.  Please see our website ( or call 732-785-2500) for more details. 

Our fall trip to Kykuit, the opulent Rockefeller estate in Tarrytown, NY will be Oct. 25.  Call Jane at 732-458-7507 for details and for a reservation. 

The Nov. 14 meeting, also at the Firehouse at 7:30 pm, will feature Jeff Brown, a teacher at Southern Regional, presenting a program on the “Doughboys” of World War I.

The year will end with our Christmas celebration Dec. 8 and 9.  Both days the hours are 3pm to 7 pm.  Please consider volunteering to decorate and help with this important fundraiser.

The membership fee is due in January, but for your convenience, you can bring in your remittance to the Sept. or Nov. meetings or use PayPal through our website.  Enclosed is a membership form.  If you wish to mail your dues, please send it to:  Deborah Cogill, 135 Stephan Rd., Brick, NJ 08724.  Thank you.

Programs are presented at each general meeting, which are open to the public. Besides the general meetings the Society runs bus trips, workshops, and participates in local events.
